Riot Fest welcomes
Tiger Army spent the better part of last year touring behind their first album in nearly a decade, ‘V • • • –,’ which marked an astounding leap forward both sonically and contextually. Deeply rooted in the experimentalism of pre-British Invasion rock ’n roll, Tiger Army have re-entered the modern punk canon with a sound that’s nimble, fearless, and pulsing with their signature dark imagery.
“It was very important on this record for me to try to do something new to top myself,” vocalist/guitarist Nick 13 said of the band’s appropriately titled fifth album. “I think a lot of people become complacent after so many years of making music. And I guess that was one reason why I was away for a little while—because that’s what needed to happen to maintain that passion and, hopefully, freshness.”
