To enter Metro/smartbar, you must show one valid form of federal or state ID (driver’s license, state ID, passport, etc.) as proof of age. Our policy is to request ID from any customer who appears to be under the legal age. We have the right to, and will, refuse entry to any customer who cannot produce a valid, adequate ID. We also reserve the right to ask for a second form of ID if the first form is unacceptable or unclear. If the show is All Ages, teens under 18 are welcome, and no ID is required. Metro is a safe, secure, and fun environment, but as always, we recommend parents weigh the maturity level and personality of their individual child when deciding on the right age for their child to be allowed to attend concerts.

If the show is 18 & Over and a person under the age of 18 wishes to come to the event, he or she will need to bring a parent/legal guardian with them. The parent/legal guardian must purchase his or her own ticket, must remain within a few feet of the underage person throughout the entire event, and must agree to take full responsibility for the underage person while on the premises. Please note that this is applicable to parents and legal guardians only––other friends or relatives may not substitute for parents. We reserve the right to ask for proof of a parental/legal guardianship relationship.

Patrons under the age of 21 may not consume alcohol under any circumstances, and any minor who is caught consuming alcohol, or anyone providing alcohol to a minor, will be asked to leave and may be turned over to law enforcement.

The Chicago Clean Indoor Air Ordinance was passed by the Chicago City Council in December 2005. The ordinance, Municipal Code 7-32, prohibits smoking of any kind in public facilities. Due to the ordinance, tobacco and cannabis smoking is prohibited inside and within 15 feet of all entrances of Metro. The Metro typically does not allow re-entry; however, for certain shows, we will allow re-entry for smokers 21 & over. Our door staff can answer can questions regarding this policy and whether it is in effect night of.

Alcohol is available for anyone 21 & over. Patrons drinking without wristbands will be asked to leave. There are a variety of non-alcoholic beverages available as well.
